Merciful God
You have prepared for those who love you
Such good things as pass our understanding
Pour into our hearts such love towards you
That we, loving you above all things
May obtain your promises, which exceed all that we can desire:
Through Jesus Christ our Lord.
Amen

Bringing and Distribution of Food donations at Harvest Festival service
This is a time when we as a church prepare to celebrate and give thanks to God for food and crops. On the last Sunday of this month, we are asking the congregation to bring non-perishable foods, such as canned goods (tuna, vegetables, beans) and/or dried grains (rice, pasta) and a selection of fresh vegetables. The non-perishable items will be donated to Start Up Stirling and the fresh vegetables will be offered to the congregation for a donation, after the service. With any funds raised going to Start Up Stirling. Any left-over fresh food items will be donated to Queen Street Community Hub. Food items will be received at church from 9.30am on the Sunday morning of Harvest Festival by myself (duty Steward).
Thank You. Vicki.
Charity of the Month - September
Donations this month will go towards Stirling Street Pastors
Church Roof
Work to replace the church roof is due to start on 28th September, when scaffolding will be erected around the church, and is likely to continue until late October (although exact timescales are weather dependent). During this period church life will be able to continue largely as normal, but there will be reduced access to the building. Access through the front door will be unaffected, and it is recommended that you use this door if at all possible. (Groups that normally have access to the building via the back door will be given front door keys for the duration of the work.) There will, however, be very limited access through the rear door, as scaffolding will be erected all along that side of the building. There will be a gate which we will be able to unlock on Sunday's so that the church remains fully accessible for worship. If anyone needs access through the back door at other times (e.g. on Wednesday at the Community Hub), especially times when the contractors are at work, it will be necessary to inform the contractors so that they can ensure that there is safe passage before unlocking the gate and to allow access to the back door to enter the building.

Open Space
Artificial Intelligence has been all over the news this week. But Open Space got there first! In anticipation of such developments, we had already organised "AI: Friend or Foe?" a debate night on this crucial technology that promises to bring huge societal benefits but also, as we have heard this week, comes with significant risks and dangers. Come along at 7.30pm on Friday 18th September to exchange ideas, watch a film, and work out how we might respond to this opportunity/threat. Refreshments will be served.

CCA Scotland Monthly Vigil on 29th September 12.00-2.00 at Scottish Parliament
Dear Everyone,
With the decision on the Rosebank oil field and the Jackdaw gas field imminent, we are going to focus on this as the main theme at our vigil on 29th September. It’s possible that the decision to go ahead with Rosebank and Jackdaw will have been made, but we can still voice our grave concerns about the increase in global warming that extraction from these new fields will cause. If the decision not to go ahead has been made, we can celebrate!
